We learned about coins this week! Each day my students made the coin that we were learning about, and today they were able to spend their money on M&M’s, a popsicle or extra time on Epic!

My first year at Travis, anytime Ayleceia would catch me in the hall, she would yell “Ms. Medrano! You know I’m your favorite!” from a strong willed 5th grader to an absolutely incredible Senior, words can’t express how proud I am to watch my favorite do her thing!🏀💜

When Kite day falls on the day that all of your girls are out… you have BOY DAY💙 may my boys grow to be strong, courageous and kind.

Hernandez Elementary hosted Family Literacy Night on Thursday, November 16, featuring story time with special guests from Texas State University’s Men’s Basketball team, fun games, and activities. #RattlerUp

Finally, we found out what was in the bags!

We then got to discuss what we felt and our predictions with our concha y cafe partners. Our sentence stems were “en bolsa 1 yo senti” and “yo pienso que bolsa 1 tenía….”

Todays lesson on touch included some mystery bags! Students got to feel and guess what was in the bags

Today we’re talking about taste! We paired up with our Chile y limon partners to share what our favorite flavors and foods are! Our sentence stems are “mi favorito sabor es” and “mi comida favorita es”

Organization is my teaching love language! I loved being able to share what works in my classroom today💜

Diez y seis festivities❤️🇲🇽 We learned the history of diez y seis, had the chance to hear our very own HS mariachi, danced, and learned about how I was a mariachi growing up! Que orgullo ser mexicana! VIVA MEXICO!

When you put pencil to paper, our staff, students and families made this an on point first-week! Here’s to many more days of sharpening our minds, together, in #SanMarcosCISD.

Today we were asked to describe our year in a word or 2. Ideal felt like the PERFECT word. I’m on THE best campus, I have THE best team, best mentor, the most amazing students, parents, and supportive cohort.💜 not many teachers get that fortune, but I’m so glad I did.
