@2StefanMoore When people ask how many grandchildren you have? You don’t want to deny their existence but also don’t want to have to tell that story again. Seeing children he grew up with living their lives. Atticus would have been 11 this year but to us he is #foreverfour. xx

The things people don’t see after your child dies… 💔 It’s not just the birthdays & holidays. It’s not just the empty seat at the table. It’s the way you pause before answering, “How many Children do you have?” It’s the panic in the grocery store when you hear someone call their name. It’s still buying their favorite snack out of habit & crying in the car. It’s keeping their phone number in your contacts bc deleting it feels like erasing them. It’s the ache of watching their friends graduate, get married, have kids… while your Child will forever stay the same age. It’s talking to them in your head every single day. It’s the way your smile in public hides a thousand private tears. Grief after child loss doesn’t “end.” We carry it. We live with it. We breathe through it. You might not see all of this but it’s there. Always. For all the parents walking this road, I see you. ❤️ For everyone who loves someone walking this road… please, keep saying their Child’s name. ❤️ Ashley ❤️ #Forever13

@sarajcox My Dad took my 2 daughters away camping when they were about aged 8 & 10. They found a beach that was relatively empty, sat down but when they looked around they realised it was a nudist beach! My daughters were mortified. They packed up quickly and left.

Morning!! Tell me a memory about a beach! Childhood paddling, donkey rides or finding something in a rock pool. Maybe a romantic walk, a lost key or a runaway dog? Sandy sandwiches, sudden rainstorms or crabbing with your gramps? Tell all!

May 17th is recognised internationally as 'DIPG Awareness Day' - but unfortunately here in the UK, there is no official recognition of this, despite calls for it in the past. Until we gain national support for changing the outcomes of DIPG, the message to parents will always be to go home and make memories with their child, and changing outcomes starts with knowledge and awareness. Today, we sent out our 3rd set of gifts in less than 3 weeks, along with funding an extra special junior zookeeper experience day, this time to an 8 year old girl who was recently diagnosed with this terminal form of cancer. Help us to spread awareness by interacting with this post - it won't be your child, until it is. 💜 🎗️ #DIPGAwareness #ChildhoodCancerAwareness

@sarajcox We had a visit from Cliff Richard when I was at secondary school around 1969/1970. He just visited the sixth form and apparently they sat and talked and he played guitar for them. All I remember is all the security around him!

@RobertMSterling My granddaughter also says ‘pack pack’, likes to put ‘B’ in front of words eg her favourite meal -Basagne, and Butella on toast. Apparently the school nativity featured ‘Baby Cheesus’!

The best random part about having small kids is how they mispronounce things and it’s so adorable that you not only don’t correct them, you start adopting it yourself. During Covid, our daughter couldn’t say “hand sanitizer” correctly. Three years later and we all still call it “hanzatizer.” When my son was two, he had a toy Elmo guitar that he called his “kintar.” My wife and I only stopped pronouncing it like that once he started real kintar lessons and we sounded dumb in front of the teacher. Our toddler is two and she calls her backpack a “pack pack.” Now the other kids talk about getting their pack packs ready for school every day. We’re having pasghetti for dinner tonight. It probably sounds stupid, but it’s little things like this that make parenthood—despite all the challenges—an irreplaceable joy.

What thing when you were little did you think was really expensive/valuable/special & not to be used Willy Nilly (mainly cos your parents/siblings/teachers told you) that as an adult you realise now it’s completely not?!

Watch Banksy the beagle, who lived behind bars in a testing lab for SIX years, take his first steps of freedom on US soil. He is a survivor of painful animal testing and experimentation overseas. 💔 He is now FOREVER FREE and living with his adopted family ❤️ #EndAnimalTesting

Our animation ‘Puddle Jumping’ aims to help adults understand how grieving children can seem to move in and out of their grief, a bit like they’re jumping in and out of a puddle. 💦 Puddle jumping is normal and means a child is learning to cope with their grief.
