@TCEA Thanks for the shout-out! It's an older conference presentation from 2019, so some things have changed since then. If folks have questions, they can reach me on IG and FB at MrsJintheLibrary.

If you’re in my DMs saying I should only be tweeting about the positive aspects of teaching/education in order to increase teacher interest and retention, then you’re part of the problem 😂👍🏻

@EDUwithEmily As someone who recently resigned from K-12 teaching, there's a gleeful delight in speaking up for education and libraries in public. We need more advocates who have worked K-12 ed, but don't anymore!

Some day when I’m not employed by a school and can speak freely, I’ll tell y’all what’s really going on in these buildings. If you think my tweets are controversial now… just wait.

I’m refusing to accept the narrative that these NAEP scores are a big deal. The last three years have been bonkers & the students lost a few percentage points off an optional test. Everything will be okay.

@CajunMSTeacher Haha...sounds depressing when it's phrased that way, but yes, I resigned from full-time teaching in June, however I'm still working in education. Might go back someday, or might not. Haven't decided yet.

Show me a teacher and I’ll show you a high-functioning, anxiety-ridden, stressed out ball of exhaustion.

Every minute counts in the library at #LauersPark! 40 minute classes: Curriculum and instruction, book exchange, and #STEAM stations and projects. (Our elementary schools are Pre-K- 4th.) I teach every student in the building 🥰 The best part! #PSLA #SpotlightLibrarianPSLA

@LibraryMelle Because the 40-hour work week assumes a spouse who does all the house chores, cooking, & childcare as their primary role. @toddgrooten is right...we're taught to expect ourselves to do twice the work in the same amount of time.

Why does it take so much time and energy to plan, shop for, and prep nutritious foods AND do daily physical activity AND work full-time AND commute AND be expected to sleep for 8(?!) hours AND have time for anything that makes me want to keep doing all this?! 😬😭😬😭
