Today we celebrated Grinch Day! 💚 After reading the book, we discussed character traits of The Grinch & wrote how we would make The Grinch grin! Students noticed that all of our examples were great acts of kindness for us to show others. ❤️ @mbernal_DrB @hetal_amin1 @fernbrooknj

We held a mock election after reading “Grace for President” and “Duck for President”. Ss filled out voter registration cards and hit the voting booth to cast their votes. Tomorrow in math we will count & graph the ballots to find out the results! 🇺🇸 @fernbrooknj @KatherineTThorn

Nothing beats the sweet sound of first graders using their decoding skills as they sound out words and read some of their favorite books! Their reading muscles are growing stronger and stronger everyday! 💪🏼#proudteacher @fernbrooknj @KatherineTThorn

Yesterday, we read “Chrysanthemum” & discussed the importance of our names to our unique identity! We incorporated math by counting the letters in our name, used tally marks & 10 frames to represent that number before making our own name gardens! @KatherineTThorn @fernbrooknj
