A Maundy scene in an Anglo-Saxon manuscript: monks washing feet and a king giving to the poor. Maundy Thursday takes its medieval name from these acts of charity, following Christ's commandment at the Last Supper. His 'mandatum' became 'mandé' in French, 'maundy' in English.

@TheWomanHolmes @bbcstrictly I enjoy seeing the good dancers much more than the stumblers, bumblers and mediocre triers. However, the show needs a range to please us all.

WHEN will @bbcstrictly learn -we dont like virtual pro's in the competition! Its unfair for people without training to be kicked out each week becus they have a dance off with a pro! Amber is a fully trained dancer & shouldnt be allowed on! Totally unfair on Balvinder! #Strictly

@cherryrollinss @Kaylalula Streets better than George, who managed to bore me with his Argentine tango.

@Kaylalula His performance was better than both Karen and George, in quality, technique and ability. A ‘bad’ performance compared to his other dances maybe, but not the worst of the night at all. The choreography was made by an external choreographer, not him or Katya.

@Kaylalula @cherryrollinss The routine was too hard. Regardless of his ‘training’ he’s not a professional and that choreo was too much for him.

@cherryrollinss Sorry, his performance last night was off. The choreography was off, the partnership was off. Should have been a walk in the park with the musical choice but something was definitely not right. However unjust it is, it was the worst performance in the regular show.

I voted for Karen & Carlos (my favourite dance tonight), Lewis & Katya, Amber and Nikita, George and Alexis. But a tough field tonight. I think there are two obviously weaker dancers - Harry and Alex - but who can predict the vagaries of the #Strictly voters?
