NQT year is now complete, and what a year it has been! I’m so grateful for my time at @MiltonPrimary17 , it has been thoroughly enjoyed 💖 can’t wait to see what my future career in teaching brings!
During our investigation, we decided we needed to amend the plan and find someone even taller to really put our theory to the test! Luckily, Mr Oram was on hand with the perfect technique! 👌🏻
So impressed with these communicators, who organised their plans for their science investigations, just in time to put their hypotheses to the test in the glorious sunshine!
A super start to the day with 6R! We’re still loving reading The Night Bus Hero! Today, we worked on collating ideas and making comparisons between Hector and Mei-Li, two of our favourite characters!
This afternoon, we worked collaboratively to construct a database with the results of our fast fashion survey. I’d already populated a few rows but in my haste, I’d made some mistakes. Luckily, Year 6 were amazing at checking for errors and making corrections!
Excitement, confusion and curiosity descended on year 6 today following the appearance of a mysterious black hole in the ceiling! Super discussions and imaginative rumours followed the discovery!
After an exciting delivery of 30 copies of our class text, The Night Bus Hero, 6R were eager to continue reading the story independently. The characters and plot have totally captured their interests, a definite recommendation from 6R!
In Year 6, we’ve been focusing on using our ‘thinker’ learning asset to reflect upon and edit our writing effectively, before creating final drafts! Lots of children have met their learning targets and shown super improvements! 👌🏻
Learning how to use Google Sheets to create graphs allowed us to put our collaboration and self-manager learning assets to good use! This took real motivation and perseverance but by asking questions and sharing skills, we mastered it! 🧠 👏🏻
As we discovered more about Harvey Milk’s inspiring story, we focussed on identifying themes. We then used Venn diagrams to compare the text with another of our favourite stories, Hidden Figures, which really tested our ability to be good thinkers! 💭
What a fabulous first week of the summer term with Year 6! We’ve spent the week examining our learning assets and reminding ourselves just what it takes to be fantastic learners!
