@DrRParker @bazhsw8183 2/2 but why does that mean our students don’t get the opportunities as well? @bazhsw8183 is spot on, people who got these experiences just don’t realise they reality for most. That said, we do all we can with what we have but it can only go so far.

@DrRParker @bazhsw8183 1/2 It’s a postcode lottery thing again. I work in a rural comp. However, I can’t count how many times I’ve wanted to sign up to schemes only to find we don’t qualify as we’re not in London or other inner cities. Yes, they have higher numbers of ‘disadvantaged’ students

In between at least 15 admin emails today, I received 2 emails from students with impromptu creative writing they wanted to share with me. These moments remind me why I love my teaching ❤️

@MrsSpalding Love the positivity 👏 Undeniably, the system is broken; we run ourselves into the ground only for the media to paint us as selfish antagonists in their stories. But, the classroom and the kids bring me joy. That’s why I love my job and won’t let anyone put me down for it!
