Spent all yesterday on the ground in New Hampshire. Spoke with Republicans. It’s clear to me that there are way more Republicans than the experts realize who are gonna support Kamala Harris. JUST IN: A judge certifies that the "Make Elections Fair" initiative has enough signatures to qualify for the November ballot.
If passed by voters it would convert Arizona's conventional primary system to an open primary while giving discretion to the legislature to decide the number of candidates that would go to runoff.

Our Presidential elections nowadays are decided by 20,000 people each in 5 swing states. Living in one of those states (Arizona) I can tell you, if you're a party person don't presume to speak for Independents. They do just fine themselves, that's why they are Independents.
If your candidate has an off night and you immediately panic and say 'OMG what will the Independents think?' you're diminishing them. A guy whose only answer to every question is 'killers and rapists are coming over the border!' still has that bullshit answer regardless of the reality television persona it's delivered in and a lot of Independents I know can smell bullshit even if it's covered in Old Spice and L'Oreal self tanner.
Hold the line, Democracy is at stake.

Clint Smith, who was running as an independent against extreme Andy Biggs in AZCD5, suspends his campaign because a democrat now running. The district is overwhelmingly gerrymandered to protect Biggs, so a Democrat has ZERO chance of winning. Clint Smith could win as an independent but the Dems have to join him. Instead, they are guaranteeing Biggs another term. So shortsighted and dumb.

AZ Democrats are so stupid. Andy Biggs is too extreme & represents a deeply Republican district in the east valley. A democrat will never beat him because the district is gerrymandered to protect Biggs. The only way to beat Biggs is for a moderate Republican to run as an independent, and for no Democrat to run. If the district's Dems and reasonable Ind and GOP vote for the Independent he can beat Biggs. Clint Smith ran as an independent in 2022 but a random Dem ran against him as a vanity project. Dems told Clint they will not run a Dem candidate in 2024. But now, an unknown Dem is running in another vanity project. She is literally guaranteeing Biggs another term. There are so many Republicans in the district who will vote for an alternative to Biggs, but Dems can't get out of their own way. Unbelievable.
