Congratulations to Joan Manchester, the 2020 PoeTree champion! Her submission of Tupac Shakur's "The Rose that Grew from Concrete" beat out 15 other poems to clinch the victory. #poetree2020 #ahsremotelearning

After weeks of fierce competition, only two poems remain standing in the 2020 PoeTree competition. It’s Langston Hughes’ “Life Is Fine” (nom @Kris10Thomsen) vs. Tupac Shakur’s “The Rose that Grew from Concrete” (nom Ms. Manchester). Vote to make sure your poem emerges victorious!

Here are the results of the PoeTree thus far. Despite the challenging circumstances, we’ve averaged 130 student votes a day with some days seeing well over 200 students participating. Thanks to all the teachers and their students keeping the PoeTree alive! #poetree2020

Today begins the PoeTree competition! It’s Billy Collins vs Billy Collins in the inaugural matchup. Will it be “Aimless Love” (nominated by @KevinGormanAP) or “Looking West” (nominated by @MsSilvaAHS) that takes the win? Stay tuned for the results.
