April was full of many experiences and learning opportunities from Easter to all things “Eco”, multiplication games, learning how to use Green Screen tech , celebrating birthdays, performing in school assemblies and more. A month full of collaboration & teamwork #ocsbBeCommunity

March flew by with these busy 🦫. Here are some highlights! #BeCommunity

So much physics happening in our blended gr. 2/3 class. We started our explorations with levers and inclined planes outside in the woods for our Woodsy Wednesday but came back to warm up. Loads of science this week. (& a birthday too! 🎂 🎈) #ocsbScience #BeCommunity

Cold toes couldn’t stop our scientists! 🥶🔬 We explored inclined planes & levers, measured how many Newtons of force it took to pull cars up ramps, tested gravity by dropping different masses, and investigated friction by pulling a peer in shoes vs. “cookie sheet skis”!

Bonus: We even grew our vocab when some of the 🪂 didn’t “deploy”

This fallen log has been a car, a couch, an airplane—and today, a helicopter kids parachuted out of. Simple loose parts = endless imaginative play, where children meld ideas, collaborate, and problem-solve… all while getting fresh air & exercise. #OutdoorLearning

Just back from an incredible 4 days at the @takemeoutside Leadership Conference in stunning Banff, AB! Inspired by the conversations, connections, and outdoor learning experiences that remind us how powerful it is to take education beyond classroom walls. #OutdoorLearning

Worked on patterning & skip counting today while we explored some of our classroom math tools. Some even shared their 2D shape knowledge & we all reinforced that EVERYONE can do math! #ocsbMath

First Day Done ✅ Our grade 2&3’s had a BUSY day. We read, we drew, we collaborated on a STEM challenge, we played, & even went to gym on the first day! Routines are being learned & friendships made & renewed! Sleep tight my lil’ rainbows 🌈 @AngelsOCSB #ocsbFirstDay

What do you do when you’re studying Data & you earn a reward? You collect data on how to celebrate, make a bunch of different graph representations & have a Fortn̶i̶t̶e̶ Day because it was the clear winner! 📊 #ocsbMath
