@johnricard @EdutechCreate I'm so devastated about this, having returned from maternity leave to discover it's gone! What @HMHCo has done is completely gut the single most effective EdTech tool for student engagement and community building that I've used in my 14 years as a teacher.

So this is something I have experimented with in the past - just this past year. I put a lot of time and effort into learning and using a gaming system called Classcraft to enhance learning in my Latin classes. It was great - I would reward students XP, and they would level up their characters and get outfitted with new swag. BUT @HMHCo bought Classcraft and then destroyed it! I do not understand why they purchased a product they did not understand. There is a petition to get it back. chng.it/hJGm9f9RYm If I had the AI tools, knowledge, and skills I have now I would have greatly enhanced this in my classroom. This is another important concept in education - gamification, which is not to trivialize what is being learned but instead to transform the engagement of students in class.
