I'm reading Sharon McMahon's wonderful book The Small and the Mighty and don't want to forget this line: “One becomes great because of who they lift up, not who they put down.” In casting your vote this election season, this seems as good a criteria as any for whom to support.

I had no money growing up. My dad was a labourer and my mum did everything to make ends meet. Men worked hard. Women worked miracles. But education was free. As was the local library. I knew books were my passport to a better life. #SupportLibraries

Come to think of it, denigrating the worth of a soldier’s service based on whether he deployed to a war zone is… kind of like denigrating the worth of a woman’s citizenship based on whether she happens to have children.

@Cabal_Educator DC is wonderful. The National Museum of African American History and Culture opened after we were there last but EVERYONE I know who’s gone to it has sung its praises! The food served on every floor is unique to a culture and apparently AMAZING. I can’t wait to see it!
