@bphillipsonMP It’s sad then that most schools can’t afford quality books for children to develop a love of reading. As an ex teacher I spent a considerable amount of money on making sure that the children in my class had quality books to look at.
Reading is pupils' passport to the rest of their lives, unlocking all that school has to offer.
Our Schools White Paper will ensure children leave school ready for work and ready for life. There's no better place to start than with reading.
