So, I think the crown comes from the Trust I work for, the school behind me looks like Rydell High (Grease 2 is the best), my title is Principal even though everyone calls me headteacher and I am a stickler for rules! 💙 this one too!

@BenisonMrs It could be like Mat leave but better. If you are allowed it (must have been teaching for 5 yrs)you must come back full time for 12 months. Then your research etc could be beneficial for the school as well as yourself and possible promotions. Would be a great retention benefit

Pupils at a primary school in Hyde have taken their campaign to protect Tameside’s countryside right to the top of the Government. Youngsters from Gee Cross Holy Trinity Primary have written to both Tameside Council and 10 Downing Street to voice their objections to the proposed Godley Green Garden Village department. The school council, made up of pupils aged five to 11 years old, sent a detailed letter outlining their concerns over the plans, which would see more than 2,000 homes built on green belt land to the south of Hyde. This sums it up for me. A load of people who’ve never led a school, have no idea what that’s like and don’t have a clue what some schools are dealing with every day, setting arbitrary targets and then telling heads that “everyone can do it”. I’d like to see them try.

All the Heads I know are on their knees, seeing children presenting with more complex needs than ever before, extreme behaviour and limited funding. The majority of this is in EYFS and Year 1. So instead of announcing something to help this, we'll raise a target to add pressure.

Last night was the last Hatts Creative Club of 2024. But we will be back in 2025.
