Ss traveled around the room to find and classify triangles made out of tape. They photographed them and used the pics to make an @AppleEDU Clips video! #engage142@LRFSchool142
Ss analyzed a primary source document, the Declaration of Sentiments. They worked together to take the old English phrasing, and put it in their own words. What they discovered: women deserved more rights! #engage142@Seesaw@LRFSchool142
Our 4th grade Ss did an amazing job at the Living Museum today! The other grades loved watching them transform into their famous person. They worked so hard to prepare, it was great to see all the work pay off. Tomorrow we perform for parents! #engage142@LRFSchool142
We love The Lightning Thief! Ss are buddy reading one chapter. They use post-its to annotate important parts, using our close read strategies. These notes help them lead their own discussion groups! #engage142@LRFSchool142@camphalfblood
Loving our new @Seesaw display in the hallway! As the year goes on I’ll switch out the QR codes to showcase different pieces of work. #engage142@LRFSchool142
Ss had fun ending our Greek Mythology unit by doing some readers theater. They got to act out different stories and film their “performance”. A great way to practice reading fluency, and a fun end to the week! #engage142@LRFSchool142
Ss love learning about Greek Mythology! We are trying something new and using #Numbers to record our information. They were super engaged the whole time. Ss are able to incorporate other apps as well including @ChatterPixIt. So much fun! #engage142@LRFSchool142
Covering up everything in our room for PARCC testing can be a bummer. So we decided to turn it into an opportunity to motivate ourselves! Ss decorated the chart paper with encouraging words, test taking tips, and tips for staying calm 😊#engage142@LRFSchool142
A little professional development from my own house! Proud to be an official @Seesaw ambassador! Any of my @LRFSchool142 teachers want some tips, come find me when we get back to school! #engage142
What better way to get out our day-before-spring-break energy, than with an egg hunt! Ss solved math problems that were inside each of the eggs. Great PARCC review and so much fun! @LRFSchool142#engage142
Ss reviewed one of the hardest 4th grade reading standards: making inferences. To shake things up, we made inferences using pictures! They went to different stations and used evidence to determine what was going on in the photo. #testprepcanbefun#engage142@LRFSchool142
While I was away at Apple training today, my students were hard at work! I love when they use @Seesaw because I can get an update on how the day went. Today the scientists were hard at work learning about the brain! @LRFSchool142#engage142
Extending St. Patrick’s Day for one more day! 🍀 Ss did a fraction scavenger hunt around the room, answering fractions word problems as they went. A fun way to review for our upcoming math test. @LRFSchool142#engage142
Ss are reading nonfiction articles about groundbreaking women. Today they used @Seesaw to draw and describe how one of those women, Bessie Coleman, inspires them. @LRFSchool142#engage142
Ss watched Tuck Everlasting and then compared the movie and book, for a 4th grade reading standard. They got so excited spotting all the differences! Most students asked if they could write more because they couldn’t fit all their ideas on one page! #engage142
Ss are working on stop motion videos as one last project for Tuck Everlasting! Instead of just retelling the story, they had to write an extended chapter, answering the question: what would happen if Winnie did drink the water? #engage142@LRFSchool142
