I’ll be making sure Cooper grows up a proud Habs fan!! With all the excitement around the playoffs, I thought this would be a lovely time to share these photos and say thank you…

Alex was incredibly kind and genuine, and that moment meant so much to our family during such a hard chapter. It’s something we’ll always remember and a story we’ll one day tell Cooper when he’s older. And despite his dad’s best efforts 😂

The funny part? David already knew Alex was there but had decided not to go because… Toronto fan logic 😤 Thankfully, one of the wonderful nurses on the surgery unit made sure Cooper got his chance to meet Alex.

As soon as I heard Alex was in the building, I immediately called David and told him to bring Cooper to meet him. (I’m a lifelong Canadiens fan—my dad raised me right 😄—while Cooper’s dad is somehow a Toronto fan).

but thanks to the amazing hospital staff and support we received, Cooper is now home and thriving at 7.5 months old. Back in December, Alex Newhook visited the Janeway while Cooper was still admitted. I wasn’t at the hospital that day—his dad, David, was there.

Each year, from Dec 16-24, the Philippines and Filipinos around the world begin the Simbang Gabi. Simbang Gabi means “evening or night mass,” and is a series of devotional night masses over 9 days in preparation for Christmas. Wishing everyone who observes a joyous Simbang Gabi.
