Today was about community building @eastcarymiddle - 3 high schoolers doing an AP Bio project came to teach my kids about ecosystems and planting 🪴 and then we had a huge spread at the staff potluck 😋!

This was such a unique experience and I’m honored to have been able to take part and learn from my current (and former!) students

Enjoyed PL @eastcarymiddle today!! Yummy breakfast from PTSA, learning from Ms. Cooke & Ms. Sanger around AVID, and Dr. Davis with Collective Efficacy. Then wrapped up with Health & Wellness sessions. Pumped to continue the work!!

Last week @Walczak_ECMMS and I got to take 21 scholars to the Hispanic Educational Summit at NC State. The speakers and sessions were great & the college/career fair was the highlight for most. Proud of the kids and how they represented @eastcarymiddle @Ndavis615 @mlopez8science

My newcomers @eastcarymiddle today worked on some metacognition strategies today to preview a text about sustainable fishing 🎣 🌎

7th grade ELA @eastcarymiddle with Mr. Smith had a debate based on an article we read… Recess or No Recess? 🤔 Future debate club @Ndavis615 ? 🙃

My students wanted to incorporate soccer into the global holiday door decorating contest. So they came up with some ideas and here is our final product. World traditions through a FIFA and SDG lens. We learned so much and got to talk about my fave Messi! ❤️⚽️@eastcarymiddle

Our students did such a good job reading, encouraging the first graders to read, and helping with a craft. Reading fluency, confidence, community building, and kindness- 😍 Thanks @ericamsanger for this vision/planning and @Walczak_ECMMS @wcpss4life @eastcarymiddle for support!
