A week ago G2 did an experiment on how hand washing helps as a hygienic practice. The results were unexpected! So this week we repeated a similar experiment but used different kinds of soap to see if that is what caused the results to go wacky in our first experiment. @LCSGhana

During today's PD day, my colleague & I facilitated a workshop on using @ChatGPTapp to streamline teacher tasks. My favorite part was hearing Ts get excited about making their work lighter!

This week, LCS is celebrating our 55th anniversary. During our special Lion Day today, students and staff got together in their school houses on our school field to spell out the letters LCS! Hopefully this memory will last the next 55 years! Happy Anniversary LCS!

The “Mess about” from @ProLearnInt concept-based teaching is a favourite. G2 learners are investing what balance is as a concept and will connect it to their lifestyles later on in our UOI.

Over the past few years Gr2 students have taken action by planting trees on our @LCSGhana campus. Look at how they have grown! Our banana and plantain trees has already been harvested twice. This year the papaya’s will be ready to harvest too.

Mistakes happen, it’s what you do next that matters. This grade 2 student has really embraced our @LCSGhana values and hopes to inspire our community with her growth mindset.

Assessing decoding skills with the Z-test. Our math lead had the idea to convert the math running record data sheet to match the Z-test assessment to help us collect data in a structured way. Super fast and easy data collection for early intervention identification. @LCSGhana

Integrating math and UOI- before going on our field trip to buy a “need” and “want”, students practiced working within a set budget, calculating their totals during a role play. They practiced a script to interact with the cashiers; asking to pay and for a receipt at the end.

Working with math extension groups this year has been an exciting challenge. This group aced their pre-assessment and is now working on open-ended or rich math tasks to challenge their math skills further. This was our warm up, we started with 2 digits and moved on to 3 digits.

"Kids learn how to make good decisions by making decisions, not by following directions." This was a great keynote from Alfie Kohn - worth catching up on if you missed it. Lots of ideas on how to promote student agency and why it's so important. @toddle_edu #ToddleTIES
