Students of all skill levels show up daily to the ODSS Knitting Club to connect, create, and contribute to our community blanket. Thank you to the community members who donated yarn, needles, and crochet hooks. Everything you've offered is appreciated and is being used. @ugdsb
Don't forget that many mental health supports are available to students over the summer months. See below for a list of supports or the board website: ow.ly/HenH50ORErV#MHUG
The math is simple: 6.8% is significantly less than 17.3%. The Ford government is critically underfunding education across this province and our kids are paying the price.

Admin, try to make these your DAILY 5:
* Be the thermostat of positive culture
* Be accountable to your staff
* Be selfless: serving staff is leadership
* Be available: in the hallways, bus stop, classroom, cafeteria
* CHEER-leader. Praise & celebrate staff/students!
Teacher friends, please think twice before putting up a Christmas tree or decorations in your classroom. I get the desire to brighten things up in these weeks before break, but think about the message it sends to your students. (1/?)
Teaching for grading v. teaching for learning.
It took me too many years to understand the difference.
So, I understand the time it’s taking my kids to realize the difference, too.

25 ODSS students attended the Jill of all Trades event at Conestoga College today. They had an opportunity to try 3 hands on trades out of 15 offered, Plumbing, Welding, HVAC and Machining to name a few. An awesome look into possibilities for these young adults!!
