JUST IN: Absolutely devastating. 💔 Brown has identified MukhammadAziz Umurzokov — a gentle, gifted scholar who hoped to become a neurosurgeon — as a victim of the shooting. He survived a childhood brain condition. He mastered every class they offered. He worked a summer job for a laptop. He helped everyone with homework. He dreamed of becoming a neurosurgeon to help kids like himself. He was just 18. He should still be here. RIP💔🙏

13 years ago, 20 children and 6 educators never came home from Sandy Hook Elementary School. They were killed in their classrooms in a shooting that changed our nation forever. Since then, the Sandy Hook families have been forced to carry a pain that no one should ever experience. Today and always, my heart is with them.

Busy day for the boys hockey team as Coach Narodowy and the team shopped for toys to donate to the Lincoln PD’s Stuff a Cruiser event this morning. This afternoon they take on BVS in their season opener at 5 pm at Lynch. Great job boys, good luck tonight! @LHSRI

Our hearts are with Brown University as this tragic story unfolds. We cannot allow this to keep happening. We must #EndGunViolence.

My heart breaks for Brown University. Students should only have to worry about studying for finals right now, not hiding from gunfire. Guns are the leading cause of death for young people in America — this is a five alarm fire and our leaders in Washington have ignored it for too long. Americans are tired of waiting around for Congress to decide that protecting kids matters.
