We are using bee bots in our grade 2 classroom to do lots of great learning about coding!

Today in grade 4 math we got to use different STEM bins with pattern blocks, legos, and tangrams to complete a variety of task cards!

So many activities during Targeted Small Groups @MollyBrant_LDSB! Class 5 working was on their code and using it in sentences. This student has worked so hard all week and wanted to share! We love to celebrate! 🥳✍️

Today at Camp Read-A-Lot we did a digraph word sort for one of our phonics groups. In morphology, we created word sums with the suffix -ed. Lots of great learning is taking place! @ReadALotLDSB

This week in grade 3/4 we learned about catapults and how they were used in early societies. We had a variety of materials to explore and use to create our own catapults!

This week in Grade 3/4 we are becoming word detectives! This means we are searching for the spelling patterns that we are learning in our independent reading books. This week, we are focusing on r-controlled vowels!

Today in Grade 3/4 math we did an open-ended word problem inspired by Building Thinking Classrooms. We saw so many different ways of thinking and developed our collaboration skills!

After reading Silverwing by Kenneth Oppel, the Grade 3/4s have created some redacted poetry using a passage from the novel. This is a great way for students to show their understanding of a text through art! 📖🖼️
