The problem with knowing how the world works, the dark & utterly depressing side of it all.. is that it can make you lose your hope, & blind you from the beauty that surrounds you Finding a balance of accepting the truth, but not letting it steal your joy is hard, but important

@mshodl @yayfor1a I’ve been kicking myself this entire pregnancy for not having a birth ball, I loved using it for last baby. But our house is sadly way too small for one without it driving me up the wall. They’re great though

My freebirth stack: Heating pad, postpartum underwear, medical bed pads, peri bottle, stethescope, medical scissors, cord clamps, Angelica tincture for hemmorhage, postpartum bath herbs. Not pictured is a lot of towels, extra sheets, a baby onesie and a bowl for the placenta. A lot of this I probably won’t even need!

@yayfor1a @singingbirth Also highly recommend leaning over a yoga/birthing ball if you find yourself on all fours on the bed. The pillows weren’t enough support for me and I kick myself for not remembering that dang ball would have been perfect.

I ended up on our bed. It was the only place that felt comfortable. Kneeling over some pillows. Anyways, I was a big fan of doing a plastic liner (think larger painting cloth) over a clean pair of sheets, then a cover/mattress pad and the my “birthing sheets”. Also did water proof pillowcases with clean ones underneath an then “birthing ones” on top. Made for a very easy clean up and fresh linens underneath. Just shading in case it’s helpful!

Thread on childhood warts? Can we talk about them? Why they happen, how we can clear them up without freezing them off?

My son’s attachment to Scary Guy was leading to a lot of meltdowns so we told him that Scary Guy was flying back to his family in Phoenix in Dec. But he still talks about Scary Guy all the time. We said we will get scary guy a plane ticket to visit us as a potty training reward
Jane Dashley@JaneDashley

Please wish us luck trying to phase my son’s best friend from Halloween out of our lives by 2026. Right now it seems Scary Guy is here to stay.

@constantelos @jesseylynne My daughter has not had a single test or assignment done on paper in years and tbh, I hate it. Maybe it’s regional. Glad to see there are some still doing it that way.

@mshodl @jesseylynne I can absolutely promise that we take home paper-and-pencil tests and assignments and grade them, and yes it does take hours and hours of time.

Do people have any idea how long it takes to grade? Even if you spend only 2 min/test (usually more), when you have 150 tests, that’s 300 minutes (5 hr). The teacher will definitely spend their own time grading; just not committing to have them all done over a weekend.
Amber Apinions@fvckerysprinkle

So my daughter had a test and asked her teacher if she was going to grade them over the weekend so she could know her grade on Monday. Her teachers reply “I’m not spending my weekend grading papers.” Okay then.. moving forward my children will not spending their after school hours doing hours of homework. They will not spending their weekend working on projects. They can do that during school time then.

@harukaawake Ah yes, it appears another thing the Japanese have in common with us is young ignorant white women actively trying to ruin their country

🇯🇵 A foreign lady living in Japan argues that Japan is a "godforsaken island" and says Japanese being polite is "propaganda". She then argues that Japan should let in more African migrants and that it's "fascist" to not let them in.

@MrHodl @RyanTheGentry @cbspears Which kind of confirms my point that it’s not really a thing “bitcoin maxis” care about and therefore doesn’t reflect the status of a so called “civil war”

IMHO people in ordinals are passionate. You could reduce it to mobilization for the bags. I see it differently. The same way some Maxis rally for an idea, many in ordinals like me also rally for an idea. The idea that we can love Bitcoin and also art on it, and that this doesn’t make us a lesser class of Bitcoiners. I assure you that many voted because of this, I am one of them.

My point was the Bitcoin community has rallied in the past for things they thought truly mattered, and this wasn’t it for them. Much of what is discussed on the timeline these days is retarded, we agree there. And I’m sorry, I disagree with the second part as my notifications were full of people stating folks needed to vote for the future of [insert token here]. So I mean, yeah some folks felt this was pretty important and others didn’t. That’s not a critique of anyone, just stating what I saw. It was a fun twitter thing. We should have more fun. Just not sure it was the “civil war” some are stating.

@mshodl @RyanTheGentry @cbspears IMHO nothing the maxi community is discussing right now or get so emotional about benefits the asset they hold And nobody from the Ordinals community thinks that this kinda contest will pump their bags in anyway, different kind of things are needed for that
