@howie_hua I know that 5x2= 10 and I saw it twice (2 5’s , 2 2’s). 3x3 = 9 9x10=90 90 x 10 = 900

We had so much fun today at Community Safety Village! We learned about traffic & road signs, how to create a fire escape and practiced exiting safely, and we learned how to be safe when we’re on a playground! 🚦 🩹 👮‍♀️ 🚑 👩‍🚒

Today for math we made our own cityscapes. Then students talked about which building was the tallest / shortest, which building covers the most area and which building holds the most people! #MathIsFun

A few students came to class saying they were able to watch some of the @MapleLeafs game last night! So we decided as a class we’re going to keep track of every game! Go Leafs Go!

In our Energy unit we’ve been learning about the sun and powerful it is. We did a 2 week experiment where we left a sun in the window and predicted what was going to happen. These are our awesome results! The paper faded and the part that was protected stayed blue!

We’ve been learning about “floss” words these last few weeks! Today we did a fun roll, write and read activity for floss words we can use in our everyday writing!

Today we listened to the “Three Little Pigs” and talked about what material was the best choice to build a house. Then, we created our own structures to withstand the Bug Bad Wolf (a blow dryer). All students successfully created a structure that didn’t get blown down!

We’ve been learning about structures in class. As a way to conclude our learning, students discussed the function of a structure, what materials the structure is made of and why, and what would happen if another material was used to make the structure.

Always a great moment when students find things in the the books they’re reading that we’ve learned about! In these non-fiction books, students found close up pictures, labels, bolded words, headings, a glossary, index and a table of contents.

We learned 2 important subtraction rules this week! When we subtract 1, the difference is 1 LESS. When we subtract 0, the number stays the same!

Our #MathTalk from this week had us skip counting, counting on, and we even had a conversation about multiplication! #MathIsFun
