Every month, an average of 70 women are shot and killed by an intimate partner, nearly 1 million women have had a gun used against them by intimate partners, and over 4.5 million women have been threatened with a gun by an intimate partner. But the danger of armed abusers extends well beyond women and families—our communities as a whole are less safe when abusers have easy access to guns. In fact, it’s common for shooters who carry out horrific acts of mass gun violence to have histories of domestic violence. Since President Biden announced he will not be running for re-election and endorsed his vice president, Kamala Harris to replace him, the corporate media have lost interest in the candidates’ ages. This, despite the fact that Donald is now the oldest candidate ever to run for the presidency in American history.

It would be one thing if Walz’s one-liner had been couched as a serious assertion. But it was couched as a joke. That’s the IKEA difference.
