I was speaking g to one of my close friends the other day. She has a wonderful son who is getting married this month to a wonderful woman. They now live under her roof to try and save some money to buy a place to live - and he is beside himself about it. He is 26 years old. They want to start a family. They looked at a 2 bedroom one bathroom unit the other day. My friend had a contact able to present the property off market, and a direct sale with no agent. So they jumped at it. It was filthy and old. But it was something. Anything. At a cheaper $875,000 they just couldn’t make it work financially. He started a business 2 years ago and she is a Vet. When they discussed not being able to afford the unit and walked away from it he had tears in his eyes. There are a whole range of reasons there is a dire housing crisis in Austraia and both sides of politics are to blame. Future generations of people are going to do it tough - and the younger generation already is.

I just want to mention that yesterday I spoke with a veteran who was collecting donations for the Anzac Day appeal. When I asked him what his thoughts were regarding Ben Roberts-Smith he said the veterans are extremely upset and angry about what has happened and that they stand firmly with Ben. He also told me on good authority that Ben’s legal defence will be funded by an extremely wealthy person and it’s not Kerry Stokes. This is great news. Get ready, guys!

The problem with putting women in senior positions now, is that a couple of decades of pushing quotas & gender appointments over actual Qualifications, experience & merit, means many make assumptions that these are merely DEI hires. Especially under a left wing government. In the end - even deserving women are unfairly categorised - which has resulted in a massive disservice to those women who actually deserve senior roles. There is no place in the Defence force for Welcome to Country. It’s absolute insult to ignore the sacrifices of our past and present servicemen, only to then acknowledge the “traditional owners of the land.” The new chief of the Army should acknowledge all troops past and present regardless of race and prioritise their welfare rather than woke ideology.

🚨 Australia’s fuel crisis isn’t “just bad luck, or “due to the Iran conflict”, it’s the direct result of net zero climate policies. The media in Australia are quick to blame the Iran war for empty diesel pumps and soaring prices. But that’s only the spark. The real fire was lit years ago by climate policies that made domestic refining unviable. Australia once had 8 oil refineries. Thanks to the Paris Agreement, net zero targets, the Safeguard Mechanism (their carbon tax/credit system), and tightening emissions rules, most shut down. Now they have just 2 left — both needing subsidies to survive. Australia imports ~90% of its fuel and sits on only ~39 days of petrol, ~29-31 days of diesel, and ~30 days of jet fuel. A huge, car-and-truck-dependent country with fragile supply chains. The same mechanism is at work here in Britain. Our North Sea oil and gas producers face 78% effective taxation through the windfall/energy profits levy , explicitly designed to disincentivise carbon-intensive activity. Investment has collapsed, companies have left, and we’re more exposed than ever. We still need diesel for tractors, trucks, mining, and freight. Without it, food doesn’t get to shelves, supermarkets empty, and economies grind to a halt. This isn’t abstract “climate action”, it’s self-inflicted vulnerability in energy security and food security. Australia is the warning light flashing for the UK and Europe. The war made it urgent, but the weakness was baked in by net zero ideology that prioritises carbon credits and emissions targets over keeping the lights on and the wheels turning. The smart move? REPEAL the damaging targets. EXIT or renegotiate the Paris Agreement. Prioritise domestic energy production and realistic reserves. Put affordability and security first, before shortages become the new normal here too. Australia is living the future net zero is building for all of us.
