I loved everyone at meet the teacher yesterday! I am so excited to begin the new school year on Monday. Remember the start time Wilder has changed. The doors open at 8:15 am and school officially begins at 8:30 am. Also, school now ends officially at 3:30 pm. See you Monday!!!!

I sent the kids home with some Trix cereal (aka truffula tree seeds) on Tuesday. On Wednesday we read the book The Lorax. We then ate the cereal. Some ate it dry and some ate it in a bowl with milk. Regardless, we all enjoyed our treat together. #SPSReads @WilderSPS

Monday First, we read Horton Hears as Who. Then we then added math to it by measuring how tall we are. Finally, we discussed how we are all important, no matter our size. #SPSReads @WilderSPS

Getting caught up on our Read Across America fun. Last Friday: We created a chart and writing to go along with the pet they decided they wanted after reading What Pet Should I Get? #SPSreads @WilderSPS

Tuesday We read the book The Cat in The Hat and enjoyed some red and white (the color's of Cat's hat) treats.

Yesterday we read the book What Pet Should I Get by Dr. Seuss. Each student got to pick out and make a pet that they would like to get. We will continue this lesson by including math and writing today. #SPSreads @WilderSPS

Today was our first day of 12 days of kindness. Our class helped make sure all the recess equipment was collected at the end of recess. What will tomorrow hold? Let's find out. Stayed tuned.

This week our goal is getting to know each other. Therefore, I will not assign math homework until next week. Homework is from Monday to Thursdays or the last day of the week) in my class. Homework is for practice only, it is never towards a grade in the first grade.
