Her loans are not eligible under Biden's forgiveness program, so it's odd that's she can claim she's been harmed by this program.

The max total undergrad is about 30k for a dependent student and 57k for independent. IME ppl outlay far more than that for a business. I'd be interested in data though.

@MsNicoleAbrams @corviphobia @moneycatfinance @StrikeDebt I work at Bankruptcy Law Firm & have never seen, nor know of any attorney who's witnessed a successful adversary proceeding to discharge a Stafford loan for someone who hasn't been catastrophically injured or dead. Once again, running a business is less risk than college.

@DailyGrumbles @corviphobia @moneycatfinance @StrikeDebt This is actually a myth. Discharge isn't guaranteed, but it's pretty feasible. It just takes an extra action filed and heard within the bankruptcy.

@campaignyehudi @OMTorah I'm aware, and I qualified my statement as referring to the US, where minority status is a huge focus. What Americans see as Jewish here, they associate with worldwide Jewry. Ftr I'm married to an Iraqi-Syrian 100% sefardi and my husband and all our kids are white to the world.

@OMTorah I will add that Ive benefited from my whiteness like other white non Jews so it's not unreasonable to not be seen as a minority. Yet of course I've experienced antisemitism. But as we don't separate the Jew from the person, others can't seem to separate the whiteness from the Jew

@OMTorah If we're grouping by religion, there are others as well. The issue is that we're a religion& also a people, &as a people, we're predominantly white in the US. Bc whiteness is associated w/systemic racism, it's convenient 2 ignore history& roll with what we look like and have now
