Another great scene from Ghost where he was locked in the back room of a corner store. The same room where he hid with his mom from their father when he was not in a good mood.

Today we used Oreos to recreate a scene from one of our read aloud's this year! Teams worked together to use their Oreos in a variety of different ways.

Two sconces from the book Ghost. One where the team went out for a dinner and shared one thing no one knew about each other. The other is a scene of Ghost running the track for the first time.

This is from The Crossover where Josh goes outside and shoots free throws hoping to make 50 in a row like his father.

This is a scene from the beginning of James and the Giant Peach where he is looking out into the ocean at all the children playing while is forced to live with his cruel aunts.

Spent some time reading in the garden this AM! What a great way to start our day. ☀️

Thank you to the families and classes that stopped by our room today! We showed off our Volume Zoo animals, Infographics, and poetry notebooks. It was a blast! ❤️🤍

What a terrific evening for our students, families and staff. We so appreciate our @slespta for their efforts with our Spring Fling Carnival. It was perfect weather to celebrate community, partnerships … and Snow Cones!

To review adaptations students spent time today camouflaging butterflies in our classroom in order to help them adapt to their environment and stay safe from predators! Can you spot them in these pics?

Math Warm Up! During our elapsed time warm up students were able to pick their start/end times to create a word problem that they can independently solve. Loved seeing all these different time combinations and students showing off their work. ⏰ #SLES

Congratulations to our very own Valeria, VA State Level Champion! 🏆🥇She took first place in the All Around, Floor, Vault and Beam. She placed 3rd in Bars. We are so proud of you. Valeria is also a Top 100 US Gymnast. Wow.
