Important reminder! 🙌

I was a teacher for (many) years before discovering I really wasn't teaching. I was talking, assigning, grading. And I thought I was teaching. Truly. I wasn't. I didn't start teaching until I learned to respond to each kid's learning. That is where/when I become a teacher.

School districts, if you are dealing with high attrition and turnover, remember that teachers/ staff rarely leave a job where they feel valued, supported, appreciated and treated like professionals.

Due to inclement weather conditions, no PDSB buses will be running to PDSB schools today. In-person learners will switch to asynchronous learning for the day and log onto their Virtual Learning Environments (VLE), to retrieve assignments, etc.

I wonder if non-educators know how much time teachers put in on their “own time” … They “clock out” … … and then plan lessons … and grade papers … and worry about their strugglers. Teachers deserve our respect and appreciation.
