We looked at pumpkins through an artistic, mathematical and scientific lens. First we sketched, then we measured and estimated. Finally, we learned about the scientific method to explore the question, “how many rubber bands does it take to explode a pumpkin?”

Truth Reconciliation in Math. Ss first explored with materials to deepen their understanding of these ratios and relationships. Then we explored residential school and MMIW statistics. Data helps deepen our understanding of the world and its wrongs. When we know we can do better.

Kicking off our first science class students experimented with sports equipment reflecting on “what science is represented in these materials?” So much prior knowledge and connections as we embark on learning more about forces and motion
