🌟 National Principals Month Spotlight 🌟 Today we’re proud to highlight Dr. Matt Body, principal of Rocky Plains Elementary School! Before becoming a school leader, Dr. Body taught high school English Language Arts. His move into administration was driven by a desire to make a broader impact—to positively influence students, teachers, and the wider community. His favorite part of the day is greeting students in the morning, watching their smiles and excitement set a positive tone for the day ahead. Dr. Body takes special pride in doing car rider duty every morning—it’s his way of connecting with families and students before the day’s busy schedule begins. Outside of school, Dr. Body enjoys spending time with his family, woodworking, exercising, cooking, traveling, and catching a good comedy show or podcast. A few fun facts: he can play guitar, used to be a solid basketball player, and he and his wife even share the same birthday! One of his favorite school traditions is celebrating the Student/MVP of the Month. He loves watching parents join their children at school, creating proud and lasting memories. Dr. Body credits his father as his greatest personal influence and Dr. Shannon Buff as his most impactful professional mentor, sharing that she’s taught him invaluable lessons about leadership, professionalism, and balance. When asked what he loves most about leading Rocky Plains, his answer says it all: “I love Rocky Plains. The teachers, parents, and students are wonderful. I feel understood and valued by my students, staff, and community… I consider myself extremely lucky to be a Rocky Plains Cougar!” 🐾💙 Thank you, Dr. Body, for leading with heart, authenticity, and a true love for your school community!
