There is something so magical about being in a profession that allows us to have a fresh start each September. It's even more magical to be able to give students a clean slate to be the best versions of themselves.

Since switching to second grade I have learned a tremendous amount about the science of reading. I think constantly about all the students who slipped through because I didn't get it. EVERY teacher needs training on how students learn to read NOT JUST lower elementary.

Tonight I got to talk about one of my favorite topics with the two best educators I know. Thank you @TCNJSchoolofEd for the opportunity!

HUGE shout out to the Robbinsville Hydroponic Farm! They donated 250 kits for our fourth graders to make their very own mini farms. So fun to see students, both remote and in person, engaged in hands on learning together through Zoom! They even sent us salad to enjoy for snack😊

Today a student returned to school after an extended absence. The first words out of their mouth were "ah, I'm home." Made my heart very happy 🥰🥰
