When two of your students don’t think it’s fair they have NWEA MAP testing tomorrow, and you don’t they create a personal test just for you. Ms. A and Ms. S, I have never seen such a beautiful test! (They even had an answer key prepared! 😄)

My 4th graders looked at the new facts and were able to say it is not Rosa Parks because they have different birthdays. Now, they did some independent research and determined it is Shirley Chisholm. (The kids also wanted to learn about Lonnie Johnson so he got on the board 😃)

Put up a mystery person and the kids guessed who she is! I wonder if the guesses will change with more facts added tomorrow? I loved the sharing of facts about Rosa Parks and the question of “Ms. Dolph, can I research when I get home?”

We're saddened and concerned by today's events. Many of you carry the additional burden of having to immediately address today's events in your classrooms tomorrow. In this thread, we'll share some resources we hope will help with your next class and the days to come.

One day, you lose a bet and have to dress up as a bunch of grapes. Another day, you are named Diane Kent-Parker First-Year Teacher for Millbrook High School! Congrats Ms. Robison. @danak728 @Millbrook_PTSA

For a student’s birthday, I asked my kids to private message me a word they think when they think of Allie. It took these kids less than 5 minutes to come up with all these amazing words and more. It’s only been one week of class and they are already so supportive!

“We live in a world in which we need to share responsibility. It’s easy to say ‘It’s not my child, not my community, not my world, not my problem.’ Then there are those who see the need and respond. I consider those people my heroes.”
