Kalief Browder was jailed for years for allegedly stealing a backpack. Just as easily as our criminal legal system locks up Black people for broken windows offenses, we need to see swift action against the perpetrator of a public lynching.

A #thread. For me, it doesn’t matter what kind of "criminal record" Jordan Neely had, it doesn’t matter if he "yelled," or if he "threw garbage at commuters." What matters is he was executed. What matters is the person responsible for his murder wasn’t detained...
