It’s been a fabulous few days - well and truly spoilt for my 40th. 🥰

1/ I was incredibly lucky to visit @totteridgeacad recently. I now fully understand why @adamboxer1 calls it “the best school in the country.” A day of high expectations, great teaching, and a culture that runs through everything. Here’s what I learnt 👇👇

Almost forgot about how effective this hexagon activity is to create connections!

My year 11s are killing it right now. Embedding and expanding our knowledge of The Farmer’s Bride by exploring how it subverts the pastoral today - the big concepts from across the texts are filtering in nicely 👌🏻

Starting now, Ernulf Academy is a phone-free school! 📵 We are proud to share that Ernulf Academy is now a phone free school, giving our scholars the opportunity and environment for safe and disruption-free learning. Scholars will each receive a Hush pouch when entering the academy in the morning. Their phones are securely locked in the Hush pouch and they keep this with them throughout the day. They will be unlocked as scholars leave site. A special mention to our Year 11 students, who have really embraced this change. Their maturity and commitment to leading by example have set the tone for the rest of the school. By putting learning first and showing that life without phones in the classroom is not only possible but powerful, they are proving themselves to be true role models 💪 Together, we are creating a community where every student can thrive — focused, engaged, and ready to achieve their best. 💡🙌 #TeamErnulf #PhoneFreeSchool

@FunkyPedagogy Thank you! It was really helpful - I’ve been reflecting on how I approached revision with the recent yr11 cohort, your CPD confirmed a few things and gave me ideas for others ☺️

Really useful CPD from @FunkyPedagogy focussed on revision on her site - thank you! Really important point about making sure we teach students how to revise - made my own little revision menu which I’ll link to homework and encourage effective revision 🥳
