Students did a dialogue tag scavenger hunt while reading to a friend. We recorded our new tags on sticky notes and will be finding ways to use them in our writing next week. @HABschoolCBE

We are working on finding important information in texts. Today, we read a text with a buddy and discussed whether the information we read was important or nice to know. Next, we took jot notes to record that information.

Happy Earth Day! Today we considered how we can reduce our carbon footprint by changing small habits in our everyday lives. We also tested what happens to living things when we pollute water. Observations will be updated Monday! @HABschoolCBE

We celebrated the Ukrainian tradition of Pysanky today by making faux-eggs! It took some flexibility and creativity when our materials didn’t behave properly, but our eggs turned out! @HABschoolCBE
We are learning about non-standard units of measurement for time. Today we estimated how many of these units (snaps, claps, stomps) it would take to complete short tasks and then we measured them with a partner. @HABschoolCBE
During design time we reviewed our learning goals and built courage bracelets to celebrate our hard work. These bracelets will remind us to keep working on and improving ourselves. @HABschoolCBE
We worked on the third paragraph of our comparison writing today. We worked together to create topic sentences and then used our research to create contrasting sentences. @HABschoolCBE
Today we celebrated Holi by using straws to blow paint. We will add our portraits on top of the background to simulate throwing coloured powders! @HABschoolCBE
