Lamia, a first year doctoral student, recently won the Incoming Student SASP Diversity Scholarship. The award helps facilitate the education of a deserving student who wants to help promote cultural diversity within the field. Congrats, Lamia!

Congrats to doctoral students Andryce Clinkscales and Shelbie Spear, along with Professor Courtenay Barrett, who were recently published in School Psychology Review for their work on "The Role of Racial Match Between Students and Teachers in School-Based Consultation"!

Joe Sbar, a school psychologist in the U.P. and a graduate of our program, was recently appointed to the Governor’s Educator Advisory Council. Joe was also named the 2021 Michigan School Psychologist of the Year. Congratulations, Joe!

Earlier today, our very own Dr. Jana Aupperlee provided testimony regarding Senate Bill 10-20 to the Michigan Senate Health Policies and Human Services Committee on the shortage of school psychologists. Thanks, Dr. Aupperlee, for your strong advocacy for the profession!
