We had a great time today touring the old section of Rosedale Cemetery! We learned all about the people buried there and the symbolism behind some of the stones, some of which required a closer inspection as seen in this photo! Thanks @RosedaleCemetery !

MHC received a grant from the Preserve NJ Historic Preservation Fund, which funds historic preservation construction and planning projects. The grant is for an ADA-accessible plan for our Orange Road site, linking all the grounds and buildings. montclairhistory.org/new-blog/2020/…

Today in NJ history: December 21, 1872: Albert Payson Terhune was born in Newark. Terhune became a well-known newspaperman, writer and dog breeder. His short stories and novels about dogs, particularly collies, were popular in the early twentieth century.
