It is the normal attitude to Ukrainians and Russians. Russia is a force of nature that just happens and Ukrainians have to behave to not provoke the feral animal.

The post-WW2 German example is actually somewhat unusual, for a few reasons. The most obvious is that Germany was defeated, occupied, and subjected to de-Nazification. So Almut, do you suggest that NATO actually join in the war and turn Moscow into a ruin?

@Bartaway I would say a difference is that there is more historical reenactment flair to the scene in Europe while from what I've seen from events in the US it is treated more as a sport.
