It is exciting to share that I've completed the three weekends WASH Vanguard program under the Technical Office on Water Sanitation and Hygiene (TO-WASH) of the Nigerian Medical Students' Association.

In commemoration of World Ozone Protection Day, the @OfficialYECAN launched a school outreach program in two secondary schools in Gombe: GDSS Bolari East and GDSS Hassan Central.

@OfficialYECAN As part of the program, we educated students on ozone layer depletion, its connection to greenhouse gases, and the urgent realities of climate change. The students were also sensitized on the roles they can play in driving positive change.

Last week, on Saturday and Sunday, we organized a cleanup campaign at Gombe Old Market and a tree planting campaign at Lafiyawon Mala-inna. The campaigns aimed at making our environment clean, plastic-free, and at the same time, a comfortable place to live.

As I celebrate World Environment Day, I'm excited to share that on Saturday, May 31st , I had the opportunity to attend a climate change symposium organized by the Start The Future Initiative at the American Corner of the Abdullahi Mahdi Library, Gombe State University.

The session was interesting and productive, and I met and discussed with climate change enthusiasts and like-minded individuals.
On this Environmental Day, as a young person and a climate change advocate, I'mcalling on my fellow youths to rise and save our environment.

In November 2024, during AMR awareness week, we made advocacy visits to two secondary schools in Gombe, a poultry farm and a market where over 400 people were educated on AMR.

I'm Mubarak Saidu a climate change and AMR advocate. I'm a member of the AMR club Gombe State University. As a member of the AMR club, GSU, I have contributed and participated and in different projects implemented by the club and its collaborators.

I also took part in the AMR and WASH door-to-door three months campaign in the Pantami community where 90 houses were visited. The households were empowered with knowledge of WASH and AMR and they received souvenirs to encourage them adopt the practices.
