🚨I don’t want to be negative but the latest reports on midfielders since yesterday is concerning. • According to Fabrizio Romano, Man City are pushing hard since February on Elliot Anderson and are doing everything they can to convince him to join, similar reports came from Ben Jacobs to this morning. • Reports on Sandro Tonali this morning are that he will likely cost over £100m and that Man United are not ready to pay that for him — also the player would like a move back to Italy and I don’t know if the club wants that problem on the squad. • On Bruno Guimarães is the same problem as Tonali he will most likely be north of £70m and his age is concerning according to reports. • Reports on Adam Wharton is that he is profiled similar to Kobbie Mainoo and the club most likely will avoid him so they can sign different kind of player. • On Mateus Fernandes is that West Ham will fight to keep him even if they go down to Championship, and if they stay up we can forget about him as they most likely will ask for £80m+ and for him that kind of money is to much at this stage of his career. That leaves us with Carlos Baleba, João Gomes and Angelo Stiller — and the concern is that none of them really feel like that true “marquee” signing to replace Casemiro. At best, they look more suited as the second midfield addition, not the main one you build the midfield around. But the worrying part is… we might end up signing one of them as our headline midfielder, and that is scary for next season.
