@DanaNawzarAli Conservative Christians in US although maybe not a crushing majority but are very loud and proud. Muslim conservatives ( especially Kurdish ones ) on the other hand are a crushing majority in every Muslim region and yet, the voice is almost non existent. What went wrong?

They ignore 1400 years of actual and mostly documented history to fight over some mythistory that nobody knows if it’s real or not. We Kurds don’t have an identity crisis. Go to any majority Kurdish city and ask them who they are. You won’t hear the bullshit you see on Twitter.

The term ‘mutlak butlan’ reminded me of how powerful languages like Turkish and Kurdish were when they had incorporated Arabic. The stupid turn to ‘purify’ language turned both languages weak. Compare any late 19th century Ottoman text to modern Turkish and you see the downgrade.

34 years ago today, first ever parliamentary elections were held in Iraqi Kurdistan Region. Filled with flaws and rigged to teeth. It was followed by a brutal civil war. Last elections were held in 2024 and parliament hasn’t convened since! A story of failure at everything!

When I wrote these words in April, I had not seen this Mehmet Ali Birand interview with Netanyahu from 1997. Boom! This is a 30 year old confirmation of every single word written here: Israel is no friends of Kurds. Israel sees Kurds as a cheap PR card and an even cheaper cannon fodder against their regional rivals.
I let you watch the interview (it’s slightly longer version is available on YouTube) and decide for yourself. But remember the context: this is 1990s where even speaking Kurdish was criminalized in Turkey. When he is asked about Kurds, you don’t hear a single any of his ‘Kurdish rights’ rhetoric he uses now. In fact, Birand asks him about ‘Kurdish policy’ but Netanyahu talks about terrorism. He basically saw Kurdish rights and terrorism as one thing (this is the most extremist position even by Turkey’s standards).
The final part of the interview and Briand’s enthusiasm to get Netanyahu’s view on a Refah government is also interesting. Netanyahu had no problem with a weak Islamist i.e. Erbakan as long as he was dominated by the secular military corpus. That tells you his screams against Erodgan today has nothing to do with Kurds. All Israel wants is for Turkey to go back to its 1990s size: an ally of Israel and an enemy of everyone else.
Turks, Kurds and everyone else alike need to realize: pandering to Jewish supremacy will not bring us peace or power. And this interview is the best evidence.

Netanyahu has once again put Kurds on his dirty mouth. This time to attack Turkey. He says Turkey is cooperating with Iran and attacking Kurds. Here is the irony: Turkey was Israel’s biggest ally in the region when Netanyahu first came to power. In fact, in the late 1990s, when even singing in Kurdish was prohibited in Turkey, Netanyahu was Turkey’s number one ally. Not only he was sending Turkey drones and sharing intelligence, but Israel was instrumental in delivering İmralı to Turkey. Turkey today is a million times better, in regard to Kurds, than the 1990s Turkey. In fact, Kurds of all factions are engaged in a promising peace process with Turkey. So when Netanyahu uses the ‘Kurds’ talking point, he is dishonestly trying to manipulate my nation’s name for his filthy agendas. Here is the good thing: most Kurds know he is a dishonest thug and do not fall for it. In fact, unlike several years ago, only a minority of Kurds are still licking Jewish boots. Kurds will never be cannon fodder for Jewish wars and conflicts be it against Iran or Turkey or anyone else.
