They forget that in the early 1980s, we had comrades who were battlefield commissioned and elevated to the rank of brigadier general at just 26 years of age, shouldering command responsibilities usually reserved for far older officers. Yet today, when Major Sean Mnangagwa is promoted to lieutenant colonel while in his late 30s, these same critics cry "too young." The promotion is well above board strictly by the book and based on merit and service record. It is good to see young officers rise to field-grade command. We wish to see more such promotions in the ranks.
