Elon Musk is right to call collapsing birth rates a form of collective suicide. Brazil, Japan, Europe and many other parts of the world are already seeing births fall sharply. This is not just a “future problem” it means ageing populations, fewer workers, shrinking communities, and a generation being priced out of family life. People are not refusing children because they hate life. Many simply cannot afford homes, childcare, energy, food, or a secure future. If governments are serious about survival, they need to stop punishing families and start making it possible for ordinary people to build one.
