Even though rumours have been rumbling for weeks... I still didn't fully believe Pep would leave City this summer. Announcing it after his final game, that's so selfless. The man deserved to be lauded for months. I think it's unlikely we have a manager as dominant and significant as Pep Guardiola enter the Premier League in my lifetime. I know a lot of rivals won't agree... but if this is the end, thanks for the memories Pep. Your peak City side played the best football I've ever seen in this country.

First country to announce the final squad, didn’t expect it to be that extremely early but with us there’s always something special. More or less expected. Good that Hadžiahmetović could still make it. Katić being back is crucial, and several players have gained some form and rhythm over the last few weeks. Don’t understand why we’re taking 5 strikers when you’ve only got 1 full-back and a few halves in those positions. Nothing against Lukić, but a Gazibegović or Karić makes the squad more balanced, and quality-wise as well. If you’re counting those half FB’s as solutions then you could also count Gigović and Mahmić as emergency 5th choice CF. Personally, I would have even taken both Gazibegović and Karić instead of Lukić and Mujakić. Overall they’re not major issues for now, but deeper into the tournament and matches, with cramps (Dedić has a history) because of weather conditions & the fact that it’s the end of the season, it does seem risky. For the rest, it’s more or less as expected. The players who heavily overperformed in the qualifiers and achieved something that almost nobody expected deserve and need our support. It is a very inexperienced group, and for 24 out of 26 players it’s their first major tournament, which will also have huge benefits later on when this generation becomes more developed and established. Don’t underestimate the importance of that. With every match and every squad list, the players will grow, more talent and quality should join, and a lot of the deadwood we still have will also disappear. Does not mean we can’t already dream of winning a few matches and representing the country. And don’t think a World Cup is something small. We’ve achieved something phenomenal that we won’t always achieve, so enjoy it, enjoy the ride.
