Coming from the college ranks into my first season of high school basketball, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little nervous. I didn’t know exactly how my style, expectations, and approach would translate. But this group of young men made the transition better than I ever could have imagined. They exceeded every expectation I had. When I arrived, this program was coming off a 9–19 season. What happened next is a testament to the kids in our locker room. Players who had stepped away from basketball came back. Players who were close to walking away from the game found their purpose again on the floor. Watching that happen has been the most rewarding part of this journey. This season turned into one of the biggest turnarounds in the state of Kentucky. These guys finished 21–8 and accomplished a lot along the way: • 2026 Kentucky 2A Sectional Champions • 42nd Annual Superman Classic Champions • 4th District Runner-Up • KHSAA Region 1 Tournament Semifinalists More importantly, they laid the foundation for what we believe will be a successful program for years to come. This team battled adversity all season long—injuries, sickness, personal challenges, and even games getting canceled. But they never made excuses. They just kept showing up and working. This was one of the hardest-working groups I’ve ever had the privilege to coach. I’m incredibly grateful for our players, our coaching staff, our school administration, and the Murray community for believing in what we’re building. Year 1 was special. Year 2 loading…..

The end of an area has come-@MaddoxMitchell7 played his last high school basketball game and I couldn’t have been more proud to follow this journey! It has brought me so much Joy and memories that I will cherish forever! #prouddad
