@mongibeddu List of medications is not indicative of any age group; just some additional pain-in-the-@$$ scienceyness and accommodations to aid or try to aid basic-@$$ living/surviving conditions 🙃 ❤️

I hate when they ask what medications I’m on I have some to list now. But at least I’m still younger than a presidential candidate.

To end that thought, I leave you with the expression: "Kabhi kabhi mere dil mein khayal aata hain". Thank you. Good night.

To add another entirely irrelevant social group to their scrutiny? Should I be conscious/scared of the trend-following students watching my *fashion* sense or the lack thereof closely now? Should I hide myself more? Is real academia even relevant to the aesthetic?

Academia is toxic enough already with its elitist commentary and judgment on presentability, professionalism, and model-making that target and bully the underprivileged, nontraditional members and bodies for not fitting in.

Why is my underpaid labor, exhaustive affective services and lack of appreciation as a service provider being represented through a romanticized aesthetic? And why is what I put on my body being romanticized and in turn criticized/prescribed by these aesthetics?

Why is an entire culture dissecting what a librarian/art teacher/school teacher/professor wears? What is this visibility and how is this different from the uniform-imposing/policing of other workers's bodies or even that of high-schoolers? Why am I invoked in this aesthetic?

As somebody not from here and hyper aware of the body I am in, the skin I evoke, the causes I potentially represent (intentionally or not) and the struggles I go through; do they get to take part in the aesthetics conversation?

So, while working as a *dark* woman in *academia*, how am I supposed to feel about the dark/light academia as an aesthetic? Why is that an aesthetic? What are the associations? Anybody dressing as one of those wants to trade their work with me for some time and live the part?

I just struggle to differentiate between the simulations, realities and inspirations sometimes and go down the rabbit holw of asking what the role of these videos/aesthetic-based associations are.

Of course I know that it's #notallinfluencers, but those that do this, still have plenty of followers who are not irked by these videos, don't challenge the lack of practicality and replicate the looks in their real lives?

So, when some influencers that barely leave their houses put together numerous looks for outfit inspo-s, even they themselves know that they might never wear them out. But they show these outfits for hypothetical days out/days at work continuously and earn their living?

Because, it's too warm in Eugene for me to wear this outfit out to heated buildings all through late fall and winter. I cannot wear this style of layered outfits at all here because of the chronic conditions my body has, and the amount of heat most places use.

I'm taking to Twitter tonight to blabber about nonspecific niche frustrations with fashion/style-based influencers. 1. This photo of me wearing a tank-top style sleeveless shirt over a full-sleeve t-shirt was taken at home. (how do you show continuation through mutilple tweets?)

@_rayehendrix It's a good place to be at! I have to tell them that I need more than the usual dose, and it's still been fine, always. Once my friends made me drink in the evening after having an anesthesia in the afternoon. I was fine still 🤷🏾‍♀️

CW: Pet Death I think part of me believed that Jimmy would outlive us all just out of spite. But even Jimmy could not hiss away death. Jimmy was our first pet we brought into our home together. We got him as part of the butterball special where cats were only a dollar a pound.

After getting down on my hands and knees and looking under the table: “It’s not a big deal but honestly where did the pencil go?” (The universe declines to answer.)

@mongibeddu It's also the poem version of The Story of An Hour 🙃 I always think of them as a pair. And something else also feels like a pair, will share when I remember!
