In Capybara Class we looked at how music can make us feel different emotions and make use our imagination. We then drew what we imagined listening to the different songs. We listened to Gymnopedie, Maple Leaf Rag, Triumphal March and The Planets, Jupiter. @SwingatePrimary
What a marvellous morning in Butterfly class. Today we looked at how we can change songs to make them sound different. We discovered that we can change the words, voice, tempo, dynamics and even change the instruments. We then changed our own song. @SwingatePrimary ❤️ my job!
In Wolf Class we looked at Graphic Scores of a ‘firework show’, they then composed their own one as a group. However, these outstanding children decided to use things around the room to make sure they were happy with their composition! What amazing initiative! @SwingatePrimary
In Jaguar class we have been looking at the melody shape. We then had to create our own melody shape, thinking carefully about whether notes matched the shape of our own melody. Well done Jaguar class. @SwingatePrimary
So incredibly proud of these two Panthers. Today we had the incredibly difficult task to accompany each other on the xylophone, (one person playing the harmony whilst the other person plays the chords) and sing a song. @SwingatePrimary
In Puffin Class we listened to ‘Hebrides Overture’ by Mendelssohn some of us didn’t like this piece of music but others thought it sounded romantic, calming or peaceful. What do you think? youtu.be/zcogD-hHEYs?si…@SwingatePrimary
A lovely morning in 🦔 class listening to different types of instruments. We listened to flute, clarinet, saxophone and piano. Some of us enjoyed the music so much we closed our eyes and imagined we playing the instruments ourselves. 😃 @SwingatePrimary
In 🦔 class we looked at how the dynamics of music changes depending on the tempo of the music. We discovered when we play the instruments quickly, we play loudly and when we play slowly, we play quietly. @SwingatePrimary
Panther class had the difficult job of improvisation today. But listening to their performances you wouldn’t think it was difficult for them. Some incredible improvisation using the G scale along with a steady beat. @SwingatePrimary
Capybara class looked at different pitch last week. We made a tower using cubes with each colour meaning a different pitch, we then made it harder by adding a rest. @SwingatePrimary
Overjoyed to come into the music room today to find 11 children from Year 6, practicing what they had learnt from their music lesson yesterday during their lunch break. 🎶🎼🎹
