@TristinHopper Consequence of this kind of stuff: annoyance/resentment among regular folk, & no one using those words they can't read. No one calls the James Bay Library "sxʷeŋxʷəŋ təŋəxʷ" they call it James Bay Library. If it was called "Sweng-Wung Library" people would use that name.

Cree or Inuktitut on signs makes sense, because it's usually done in areas where literacy of the language is equal or greater than English. But in this case, UVic is using a script understood almost exclusively by linguists. The number of Indigenous people who can read it is close to the single digits.

@JoeTomlin74 @JFreshHockey It's all the playoff games he played in from 2010 to 2013, and the line goes consistently down, which means in almost every playoff game he played over that stretch, he was worse than an average goalie. Fleury got in his own head for a few years.

All of the Canadians who can be convinced by charts already know there's something wrong. For everyone else, the path to epiphany requires a much more visceral narrative of our decline. Unrepentant rapists given mercy because of their skin colour, troubled youth disappearing into the abyss of a low-barrier shelter, predatory men allowed to exploit the terms of gender self-ID.

@HistoryBoomer I wish these things were more clearly worded. In a fight to the death could I lose to an eagle? Probably. Am I likely to? No. Could I win in a fight to the death with a lion? Yeah, it's possible. Am I *likely* to beat a lion in a fight? HELL no.

Elden Ring has some incredibly challenging roadblock bosses and an absolutely brutal endgame sequence. But, I’m tempted to consider Hollow Knight to be the game with a consistently higher difficulty. Do not underestimate that little game, you’re gonna get your ass handed to you!

@RealDaPrincipal @Mikehomeseller The only not-good and non-essential film with the original crew is V. I, II, III, IV, and VI are all somewhere between good and great, and all build off each other nicely. VI really feels like a culmination of everything that came before.

@Mikehomeseller Yes, and it pairs well with the Undiscovered country because it feeds off and completes a huge character arc for Kirk that is well done. But you can't get there without ST3 Search for Spock. Also a great watch.
