Have some humility instead of claiming an argument isn’t good without delving into the evidence. The imagery of coming with the clouds shouldn’t be taken literally as this is imagery from daniel 7 was merely denoting a contrast between the heavenly source of a kingdom coming in comparison to the Beasts in Daniel 7 representing pagan kingdoms COMING FROM THE DEPTHS OF THE SEA. So the same way Babylon IS NOT literally coming out of the sea, the son of man ISN’T literally coming from heaven. This contrast is boosted by the fact that daniel 7 is a dream and is using daniel 2 which also is a dream as its foundation for its imagery. In daniel 2 the statue is meant to represent pagan nations with different parts, the counterpart being the beasts from the sea. While the rock “not made from human hands” in daniel 2 is meant to represent a kingdom supported by god just like the counterpart of the son of man “coming from heaven” So i wouldn’t consider Jesus AS literally believing the son of man coming from heaven as being literal if he had said these words. Another point is that you literally quoted what is likely a false prophecy of Jesus AS so even if it was depicting the son of man as Jesus this isn’t what Jesus historically would have said from a Muslim perspective Jesus AS would never utter false prophecies so we can’t entertain its authenticity from a theological POV. He says “You Will see” and they never saw the son of man in their generation. Even if we grant “You will see” as not being a false prophecy which is highly unlikely, Scholars like EP sanders say this on the saying: “The word 'but' (Greek plēn) is adversative: 'But on the other hand' and thus, according to Matthew, Jesus claimed to be expecting a heavenly figure, not his own return.” So he literally says the saying you provided could be taken as jesus thinking it’s someone else 😳 And finally the argument we use for the son of man involves taking from a saying that is from both Q and Mark that depict the son of man as being someone other than Jesus AS. So it’s 1) independently attested in early sources while also 2)meeting the criteria of dissimilarity. So any other son of man saying is inherently less historical in comparison with our saying we use from Mark and Q. So i didn’t even have to entertain that saying from jesus to begin with that you’ve provided, but i did anyways just to show you how much you need to study before making claims about things you haven’t even scratched the surface on.
